Bubbles used a photograph of the smashed remains of a Hamer bass belonging to Nick Lowe to create the Soviet-style logo which appeared across the packaging and promotion of Nick Lowe’s 1979 album Labour of Lust. The logo appeared on all four sides of the Labour of Lust outer and inner sleeve, swooping around Lowe and also around his name when it appeared with the close-up b&w portrait which quoted the front cover of Iggy Pop’s 1977 album Lust For Life.
Cast in durable white brass, this badge is made from an original, hand-built master formed using mixed metals. Part of an open edition, each piece is individually cast and hand-finished, resulting in subtle variations that make every badge one of a kind.
